cassettecd (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website at play.cassettecd.com and is based in Ningbo, China. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.

1. Who we are

cassettecd is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy. We operate play.cassettecd.com and our studio is based in Ningbo, China. For any question about this policy, or to exercise any of the rights in section 9, contact us at vip@cassettecd.com.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us when you order

  • Your phone number, which our carriers need in case they have to contact you about the delivery.
  • Company name (optional), and any order notes you add at checkout.
  • What you ordered, the options you chose (colour, size), and the amount you paid.

Payment information

  • When you pay by PayPal or credit card, your payment details are handled by PayPal. We do not see or store your full card number.
  • We receive confirmation that the payment was made, and limited details such as the last four digits of the card or the PayPal account name, so we can match the payment to your order and handle refunds.

Messages you send us

  • If you email us, use the contact form, or chat with us through the live chat widget, we keep that correspondence and the details you give us.

Reviews

  • If you leave a review, we collect the display name you enter, your email address, your star rating, your review text, and any photos or videos you choose to upload. See section 5 for how review content is published.

  • If you subscribe, we collect your email address and record when and how you subscribed.

Information we collect automatically

  • Usage data: the pages you visit, how long you spend on them, the site or search term you arrived from, and interactions such as adding an item to your cart.
  • Approximate location: we use your IP address and the currency you select to estimate your country, so that we can show prices in a suitable currency.

We do not ask for, and do not want, any sensitive personal information such as health data, biometric data, political opinions, or government identification numbers. Please do not send us such information.

3. Why we use your information, and our legal basis

4. Who we share your information with

We never sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that make the store work, and only as much as they need:

  • PayPal — processes your payment, including card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments.
  • Our shipping carriers and your national postal service — receive the name, address, phone number and contents information they need to deliver your parcel and clear customs.
  • AfterShip — tracks parcels and, where enabled, sends tracking updates.
  • Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit) — measures how the site is used.
  • WP Statistics — our own self-hosted analytics. IP addresses are hashed before storage and user agents are not stored.
  • Tawk.to — provides the live chat widget. It processes your chat messages and technical data such as your IP address.
  • MailPoet — stores newsletter subscribers and sends our emails.
  • Cloudflare — our content delivery network and security provider, which processes requests to our site including IP addresses.
  • Tencent Cloud — hosts our media files and stores order data.
  • Our email delivery service — sends transactional email such as order confirmations.
  • Legal authorities — where we are required by law to disclose information.

Some of these providers act only on our instructions. Others, such as PayPal and Cloudflare, also act independently for their own security, fraud prevention and legal compliance, under their own privacy policies.

5. Reviews and content you post publicly

Reviews on our site are public. If you submit a review, your star rating, your review text, your display name and any photos or videos you upload may be published on the product page, where anyone visiting the site can see them.

  • Please do not upload photos or videos that show people’s faces, your home address, documents, or anything else you would not want to be public.
  • By submitting a review you give us permission to publish your review text, your display name and any photos or videos you upload, on our website and in our marketing such as social media or email. This permission is free of charge and applies worldwide. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us, and we will remove the content from our site and from future marketing.
  • The email address you enter with your review is used to identify your review and to contact you about it if we need to. Your email address is never published on the site.
  • We may moderate reviews, fix obvious typos or shorten very long reviews, and we may decline reviews that contain personal attacks or illegal content. We do not delete genuine negative reviews.

6. Cookies, analytics and consent

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working — the shopping cart and checkout, and your currency choice — and to measure how the site is used. Non-essential cookies are described in our Cookies Policy, which also explains how to accept, decline or withdraw your consent.

For visitors in the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, analytics storage is set to denied by default, so Google Analytics does not store identifiers on your device unless you accept.

We do not use advertising, retargeting or social media tracking cookies.

7. How long we keep your information

  • Order and invoice records: up to 7 years after the order, as required for tax, accounting and consumer-law purposes.
  • Customer service emails and live chat transcripts: up to 24 months after the conversation ends.
  • Reviews and uploaded media: until you ask us to remove them, or until the product page is retired.
  • Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe. We keep a record of your unsubscribe request so that we do not email you again.
  • Analytics data: as described in our Cookies Policy and the retention settings of each analytics tool.
  • Security and fraud-prevention logs: up to 12 months.

8. How we protect your information

We use SSL encryption across the site, restrict access to personal information to the people who need it to do their job, and keep our software up to date. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

If a data breach ever puts your rights at risk, we will notify the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours where the law requires it, and we will tell you without undue delay if the breach is likely to result in a high risk to you.

9. Your rights

Whether or not your local law gives you these rights, we will honour the following requests:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Delete your information, where we are not required to keep it.
  • Restrict or object to certain processing, including direct marketing.
  • Portability — receive your information in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent, without affecting processing already carried out.

To exercise any of these rights, email vip@cassettecd.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity, so that we do not disclose your information to someone else.

You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority — for example the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) in the UK, or the supervisory authority in your EU member state. We would appreciate the chance to resolve the issue first.

10. Providing your information: what is required

You do not have to give us your personal information. However, some of it is necessary for us to sell and deliver to you:

  • We cannot process or deliver an order without your name, email address and delivery address.
  • We cannot complete payment without the payment details that PayPal collects.
  • We cannot send order, dispatch or refund emails without your email address.
  • Our carriers may not be able to deliver, or contact you about your parcel, without a phone number.
  • Providing your email address for the newsletter, or leaving a review, is entirely optional.

11. International transfers

We are based in China and work with service providers in several countries. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, your personal information will be transferred outside your region, including to China, to the United States (Google, Cloudflare, Tawk.to, AfterShip and PayPal), and to other countries where our carriers and their partners operate.

Where personal information is transferred out of the EEA or the UK, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (together with the UK Addendum where relevant), supported by measures such as encryption in transit and limiting transfers to what is necessary to provide our services. You can ask us for more detail about the safeguards we use by emailing us.

12. Children

Our site is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under the minimum age in your country if that is higher. If you believe that a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Automated decisions

We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making or profiling that has legal effects on you.

14. If you are in mainland China

Our business is established in China, so our handling of personal information is also subject to the Personal Information Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China (PIPL). We collect only the personal information we need for the purposes set out in this policy, and we ask for your separate consent before any processing that PIPL treats as requiring it. If you are in mainland China and have a question about how PIPL applies to your information, contact us at vip@cassettecd.com.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The version published on this page is the current one, and the effective date at the top of the page tells you when it last changed. If we make a significant change to how we use your information, we will make that clear on the site.
